Lemnos: The granary of the Aegean

The production part for us starts in the field. Our involvement with the primary sector has always been a priority for our company, and that is what makes us unique. For us, the production of our traditional products is not just a process but a chain that connects the land, people and tradition.

From the beginning of our journey, we have invested in the primary sector, ensuring that the wheat and barley we use come from selected crops. Since 1981, we have been growing our own wheat and barley on the island, even reviving old local varieties such as the durum wheat ‘Lemnos’ and the barley ‘Panagia’.

In fact, for the first time in Lemnos, we implemented a Contract Farming Program in cooperation with the farmers of the island. By providing incentives to the farmers, we enhance the development of the primary sector and the economy of our island while controlling both the quantity and especially the quality of the produced seed. We also cultivate grains ourselves, carefully controlling every stage of production, from the field to the final product. From these seeds of the fertile Lemnean Land, we produce one of the most characteristic products of the island, Flour.

This forms the basis for all our products, ensuring that our raw material is pure, local and of high quality. With respect to the land and tradition, we create products with authentic taste and high nutritional value.

The connection with the land is non-negotiable for us, because we know that only through it can we guarantee the authenticity and consistent quality that characterizes us.
