The harvest season is coming to an end. Having reaped over 1,800 stremmata of durum wheat of the “Lemnos” variety, cultivated both by us and our partner farmers, we can confidently say that this year’s crop quality is exceptionally high, while yields ranged from moderate to good.
The harvesting process of the raw material by our contract farming partners in Lemnos has been successfully completed after nearly a month of hard work, often under challenging weather conditions and demanding schedules.
All necessary quality checks have been conducted, and the moisture levels—a crucial factor before storage—have been measured and are at optimal levels. As a result, we have proceeded with storing the wheat in silos.
Twice a week, the raw material is extracted from the silos and transported to a traditional mill on the island, where it is milled into flour. The flour is then immediately transferred to our facilities, where it is stored under strict hygiene conditions.
Freshly Milled and Ready for Your Table
Some of this year’s wheat has already been milled and is being used in the production of fresh daily bread, rusks, and Flomaria (traditional Lemnian pasta).
Our latest product, «Lemnos Yellow Flour» from durum wheat of the «Lemnos» variety, has been available for about a month in all partner stores in Lemnos as well as selects locations across Greece.
It is important to highlight that this carefully crafted packaging contains not only high-quality flour enriched with semolina, but also the dedication, passion, and hard work of over 30 people involved in its production.
